POWDERHORN OPENING DAY ANNOUNCED FOR SATURDAY, DECEMBER 4TH

Winter season 2020-21 set to start with top to bottom skiing and 20 acres of terrain

Powderhorn Mountain Resort opens for the 2021-22 winter season Saturday, December 4, operating seven days a week from 9:00am to 4:00pm. During early season operations, top to bottom skiing will be available on limited terrain for intermediate and advanced skiers, with beginner terrain slated to open as snowmaking progresses. Bill’s Run and Lower Peacemaker will be open serviced by the Flat Top Flyer high-speed quad chairlift. The resort plans to have two trails, connecting one top to bottom run and 20 acres of skiable terrain, with additional terrain available as snowmaking allows.

Ryan Schramm, Powderhorn’s General Manager, commented on the early season conditions saying, “Our snowmaking and grooming crews have done an exceptional job preparing the mountain to open under challenging circumstances. When Mother Nature finally cooperated with colder temperatures, we were ready to take advantage and make snow provided by the installation of our new gravity-fed snowmaking system.'

In an effort to manage the ongoing Covid-19 risk for the 2021-22 winter season, Powderhorn encourages all guests to follow guidelines set forth by the State of Colorado and local health authorities. These guidelines suggest wearing a face mask where adequate social distancing is impractical or if unvaccinated. Lifts will operate at full capacity and masks are not required while riding or waiting in lines. Guests are encouraged to use advance purchase options where available including placing food and beverage orders with the resort’s mobile app.

Early season lift ticket rates will be in effect at $59 for adults, $49 for teens, and $39 for juniors. Mission: Affordable children and senior season passes available for $29. Powderhorn’s Base Lodge and Sunset Grill will be open to the public. For the most up-to-date conditions, lift operations, and trail openings visit Powderhorn’s Snow Report at www.powderhorn.com All operations are subject to weather.
