Getting to Powderhorn
Powderhorn is located on the Grand Mesa off of State Highway 65. From I-70, take Exit 49 through the Plateau Creek canyon. Continue up Highway 65 through the town of Mesa, and then onto Powderhorn Road to enter the resort.
Where can I park?
Parking at Powderhorn is free! We have three paved lots directly below the Base Lodge. On busy days, we have a shuttle circling the lots, and our Parking Attendants will direct you to the closest available spot. To drop off gear and passengers at the front door, turn right into the lower paved lot and follow the lot around and up to the portico.
Where do I pick up my Tickets?
You should have received an order confirmation from our webshop. Print or screenshot the QR code to scan at the kiosks outside the ticket window. If you have kept and reloaded a Powderhorn RFID card online, you can head straight to the lift!
Where is the lift?
The Flat Top Flyer is our main quad chairlift, located right above and east of the base lodge. The Easy Rider beginner lift is found on the western side of the lodge, and our two beginner surface lifts are just past the Easy Rider. For access to the West End lift and our advanced terrain, take the Snowcloud or Boardwalk runs west of Dude.
Where can I get lessons?
Lesson reservations will be available soon. We offer private and small-group lessons with bundle discounts on rentals and tickets.
Where can I get rentals?
Rentals will be available in advance online and in-person. Walk in the front doors of the Base Lodge and enter the Rental Shop on the left. Helmet rentals are $9, but we do not rent goggles!
What should I bring?
Bring multiple layers for warmth and dryness, but wear only one pair of socks inside your boots! Bring protection for your hands, eyes, face, and neck. Drink plenty of water before, during, and after your time on the mountain to decrease the effects of altitude, exertion, and cold. Batteries will deplete more quickly in the cold – make sure your phone is charged and pre-save the number for Powderhorn Ski Patrol: (970) 268-5355 in case of emergency.
Food and drinks are available at the Sunrise Bar and Grill upstairs in the lodge and the Umbrella Bar outside the lodge. Winter clothing and equipment is available at the Outdoor Elements shop inside and to the right of the front doors. We also offer ski and snowboard waxing, tuning, and repair in our Tech Shop, accessed externally on the east side of the lodge.

LODGING
There are plenty of lodging options in the area with convenient and comfortable accommodations. On the mountain, Powderhorn offers multiple lodging options. We also recommend many lodging partners in the area from the top of the Grand Mesa – the world’s largest flat top mountain – to the vineyards of Palisade or the lively heart of Grand Junction.
